Johannesburg- Tell Me Sweet Something lead actor, Maps Maponyane has hit out at cinemas for allegedly "not fully supporting local films."
The romcom, which stars Maps alongside Nomzamo Mbatha, premiered at cinemas across the country on 4 September. (Read that story here)
However, just four weeks after the highly-anticipated premier, it has emerged that the film is no longer showing at 80 percent of cinemas.
It's believed that the movie was pulled off some cinemas due to poor ratings.
Sources have also told The Juice that producers of the movie are willing to fight for it to be given a proper chance.
"It's so unfair because the movie did so well during the first two weeks, and because ratings dropped in the third week, it was pulled off. We are currently in discussions with cinema companies and are not going to let this fight slide," said our source.
Maps also took to Twitter where he vented his frustration over the situation.
Here's what he had to say...
Tell Me Sweet Something has been doing extremely well since opening three weeks ago, but has still been pulled from 80% of cinemas. Such BS.

The local audience's appetite will not develop, nor will our film industry grow to its potential if cinemas don't fully support local films.
