Masterchef winner Roxi Wardman: "It all feels surreal"

Durban born Roxi Wardman is living proof that dreams do come true.

The 26-year-old assistant train driver, walked home with the coveted title of Masterchef Winner 2014 last night.

Roxi told The Juice that the excitement of winning hasn't completely sunk in yet. "I think it will sink in when I go back home tomorrow and am surrounded by my family and friends," she added.

Roxi says that she can't wait to have a "blow-out' party to celebrate her victory. "I had many highs and lows throughout the season, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd be the winner," she said.

The foodie says she plans to open a little cafe and patisserie in Durban early next year. "I also want to look for an amazing team to work with, but I don't want people who are overly qualified. Rather people who have a passion for food," she explained.

Roxi added that she won't open her restaurant anywhere else in the country because she believes that Durban is so underrated compared to Cape Town and Joburg.

As the Masterchef winner, Roxi walked away with a whooping R500,000 in cash, a brand new VW Tiguan, R100 000 worth of food from Woolworths, a trip to the French winelands for her and a partner and a glamorous five night stay at the Maia Luxury Resort and Spa in the Seychelles.
