Meet DJ Fresh - the cycling star

DJ Fresh is best known for spinning the decks, but next weekend he'll be doing some spinning of a different kind: spinning the wheels of his bicycle.

Fresh and his friends at 5FM are participating in the Cape Argus Cycle Tour next Sunday and he tells us he can't wait to hit the road.

Fresh will be riding with a team that includes the likes of DJ Milkshake, Ryan the DJ, Thando Thabete and Poppy Ntshongwana.

And although he thinks DJ Milkshake might be the fastest cycler in the group, he says it's all about the experience and company and not the competition.

"It's always nice to see fans at the side of the road  giving you support. It's overwhelming," he says.

Although this won't be the first time Fresh is participating in the event, this will be one of the first times his wife will not be meeting him at the finish line, because of her pregnancy.

"She's my biggest fan," he says.
