Johannesburg - It seems no matter how hard actor Menzi Ngubane tries, he just can't seem to shake off the legacy of Generations.
Menzi is shy when it comes to talking about the new Generations. And who could blame him, when even he admits to not even watching it.
"Personally I wouldn't say I watch the show. You're not going to drag me into a debate about whether the acting is good or bad, or the storyline. It's not my call." he told Drum in an interview recently
And even though he left the popular soapie under a cloud of controversy, he wants fans to know the show didn't "make" him!
"I never begged for a job, and I never said Generations: The Legacy was rubbish," he told the mag.
"I'm very thankful for the time I spent at Generations. The other thing is Generations never 'made' me. I came to Generations already made," he stresses.
He reveals that he never even went for an audition, instead he was approached to play the role of Sibusiso Dlomo by Generations creator Mfundi Vundla directly.
But all of that is in the past and the future looks bright for Menzi.
With a new role on TV, as a policeman on e.tv's telenovela Ashes to Ashes, Menzi is ready to shake off any ideas fans had of him... and we can't wait to see it!
