Johannesburg- It seems like there is a war brewing between Generations:The Legacy and Uzalo.
And, we're not just talking about a war to rake up the numbers.
If the latest string of reports are anything to go, it seems like there's also a war brewing behind the scenes.
City Press is reporting that it has reliably learnt from a source within the SABC that Mfundi Vundla allegedly accused Uzalo's producers and writers of "sabotaging" his show and "stealing" its story lines.
It's believed that the Generations creator made the accusations through a string of emails to a SABC bigwig, which ultimately landed in the inbox of one of the Uzalo producers.
This comes hot-on-the-heels of recent ratings, which revealed that Uzalo had de-throned Generations to become the number one watched soapie in the country.
Last week it was reported that Mfundi seemed unfazed by Uzalo's victory and laughed it off. At the time Mfundi claimed that Uzalo wasn't viewed as competition for his soapie. (See that story here)
Mfundi declined to comment on the claims made by the paper's source, but the publicity manager for Generations explained that there was no similarities in the two story lines so Mfundi could not have come to such a conclusion.
Meanwhile, Uzalo's publicist declined to comment and brushed off the claims as an "unsubstantiated rumour."
