Mpho Sebeng opens up about playing a gangster

Johannesburg - Former Soul Buddyz and Zero Tolerance actor, Mpho Sebeng, will return to the world of drama series next week as a gangster Lebo, in e.tv's new drama Z’bondiwe.

"Lebo is a dark, mentally unstable sociopath. He does not account for his actions because he loves playing the victim, and he is a true description of a man who has gone past the point of return," Mpho told Bona recently.

Mpho says he hung out in townships among real gangsters, and put himself in compromising positions to learn to play the role but learnt that playing a gangster is not all it's cut out to be.

"Lebo undermines women and that is totally against who I am. In order to be good at the character, I had to mentally psych myself to enjoy other people’s pain like he does," he says.

Mpho has also hinted that he will soon be making his big break on the larger screen, when he plays the leading role in a film set for September.

We in!...As long as it's not Lebo in a Tsotsi sequel....
