In a nutshell: After releasing what seems like hundreds of singles, Swedish House and EDM DJ Avicii has finally released his debut studio album, True.
What’s it like: EDM playing in the barn. Avicii is one of many brilliant EDM artists around and he seems to thrive on standing out in the crowd by playing around with country and piano beats. Very old school and a slight bit unnerving.
Fave Bit: The singles from the album (Hey Brother, Wake me up and Addicted to You ) are all stellar but the hidden gem is definitely Dear Boy which has a crazy Lana Del Ray feel to it. We like it alot.
Rating: Finally! Avicci has an album he can call his own. EDM and Avicii fans in particular will be really happy with the release. It may be a brilliant piece of EDM and house music but the whole country and piano influences see it stray from the rest and had us questioning whether it was worth more than 2-3 listens. 4 /5
