Music: Beatenberg - Rafael

In a nutshell: Local pop-rock band Beatenberg have released the follow up single to the uber popular Clocks. With a name like Rafael and tennis themed cover art, what's the chances the songs about playing tennis at Wimbledon?

What’s it like: Like if Vampire Weekend were South African. American group Vampire Weekend are known for their Afro-Ska sound but now South Africa finally have a band that has perfected that sound and that band is Beatenberg. Rafael really showcases the bands sound in a new way:  it's catchy, it's lyrically strong but it also deals with a subject that would otherwise be quite boring to most people. In other words it's art in sound

Fave Bit: When they talk about Rafael's record breaking match against Novak Djokovic - described in the song as the greatest match in history and talking about archangels - it's all a bit dramatic but it makes for fun listening.

Rating: Effectively a tribute to Rafael Nadal and his best match ever. Only Beatenberg could make us dance and sing along to something as boring as tennis 4/5
