Music: Charli XCX - Boom Clap

In a nutshell: It's the weekend and we never thought we'd be listening to the Fault in our Stars soundtrack to get us hyped for the weekend but thanks to Charli XCX and her new single Boom Clap that's exactly what we gonna do.

What’s it like: Like lightning through a toilet roll. Boom Clap is a loud dance song that captures the mystery of Charli XCX's voice really well. It's a basic sounding song but it's catchy enough that you'll find yourself chanting along in no time

Fave Bit: Away from all the Boom and Claps there is a lull when the song slows down and Charli gets to show off the real strength of her vocals. It's haunting and a little alluring.

Rating:  Boom Clap deserves to be played loud. It's a bit one dimensional, like a lot of her music, but it's still really catchy and who really cares how layered the sound or lyrics are when you dancing hard?   /5
