In a nutshell: With all this AKA and Cassper beef dominating SA hip hop, it's easy to forget AKA's friend, Da L.E.S. The talented rapper recently released his album Mandela Money. The lead single from the album is the club banger, Dice.
What’s it like: American rap battles in ekasi. Da L.E.S brings an American feel to a distinctly South African song. Lyrically Da L.E.S still sounds like any other ghetto American rapper, but it's the South African flavour in the back tracks that makes Dice a real South African dance floor filler.
Fave Bit: The township chants that brings a South African flavour to Dice. It not only makes us think of the weekend, but makes us want to get down like the weekends already begun.
Rating: Da L.E.S has really grown as a hip hop artist in South Africa and it shows on Dice . Fans obviously agree, 'cause it's been shooting up the charts and dominating radio. 4/5
