Music: Lana Del Ray - Ultraviolence

In a nutshell: Pop-Soul singer, Lana Del Ray has, after what seemed like eternity, finally released her sophomore album. They say it's always harder the second time around but will that ring true for Lana?

What’s it like: The album Lana always wanted you to hear. Ultraviolence feels like the dark side of Lana's first album, Born to Die, that wanted to shine but was too far buried under the expectation of pop. It's dark, it's haunting and most of all it feels deeply personal.

Fave Bit: The title track Ultraviolence is a dark track with questionable lyrics but it also feels very raw and on edge - the kind of sound that lets Lana shine the brightest.

Rating: Ultraviolence is not only the second album the world has been waiting to hear Lana deliver, but it's also the one her fans have been wishing she would make. Her recent emotional breakdowns have added a dark and depressing shine to her sound that is alluring and all together very beautiful. Normal pop fans of the album may get tired of the constant melancholy sound though. 4/5
