In a nutshell: In the middle of the last decade Lily Allen pioneered a new genre of British female pop-rap. With her sharp tongue and keen wit, she shot up the charts but then she took a break to pursue other projects and the genre all but died. Lily returns this year with a comeback album
What’s it like: MIA meets a London chav. It's gritty London told through the eyes of Lily Allen. It's fun, It's catchy and it's funny. But Lily seems to have sacrificed a lot of her cattiness and crude nature for a more radio friendly brand of rebel.
Fave Bit: Besides a brilliant album title, the best parts of Sheezus is when Lily just lets go and lets her lyrics fall over funny rhymes or catty insults, like on air balloon and the title track, Sheezus
Rating: Lily Allen is back with a bang and she does really well to remind us why we loved her so much the last time she was around. Even if she's missing some of the catty edge that made her such a hit last time round. 4 /5
