In a nutshell: Hip hop artist, Trey Songz releases his sixth studio album, Trigga, to massive anticipation. As Trey becomes more and more recognised for his musical talent, will Trigga live up to the hype?
What’s it like: A Hip Hop therapy session, well kinda. In perhaps his most intimate and candid album yet, it feels like Trey is dropping the hard gangster act and is embracing a more relaxed sound. There's still the songs about Lust, desires and sexual exploits but at this point in his career he's playing it a lot safer.
Fave Bit: For all the super collaborations on the album, including collaborations with Justin Bieber, Juicy J, Mila K and Nikki Minaj, none really make us move as much as when Trey goes it alone on the lead single, Na na. Na na is just the perfect pause on the flurry of Trey and friends on the album, enhancing all the tracks around it.
Rating: Fans of Trey will be more than happy with Trigga (perhaps newer fans more than the long time ones) It's still hip hop/RnB but with a more intimate and radio feel. It's already debuted at number one on the US charts and looks to be there for a long while 4/5
