Neil Patrick Harris goes nekkid (well, almost) for this Rolling Stone cover

Neil Patrick Harris is having a great time since finishing his stint as Barney Stinson in the hit TV series How I met your Mother. Since the show ending two months ago, the actor has been letting it all hang out and now it's hanging (behind a hat, mind) on the cover of the latest Rolling Stone magazine.

Neil is currently on Broadway, starring as a titular transsexual German glam rocker in Hedwig and the Angry Inch, where he has had to drop weight and build an 8-pack. The results are striking on the cover as Neil appears in only a bow tie and top hat.

Neil is Hollywood's biggest openly-gay star and  opens up in the magazine about how a boy from rural New Mexico was able to transition between the roles of a womaniser, in How I Met Your Mother, and the flamboyant Hedwig; his sexuality and it's effects on his life.
