Johannesburg - He found fame as a presenter on YoTV but always dreamt of becoming a doctor – which is what Musa Mthombeni did after leaving the popular youth show back in the day.
Now the full-time doctor is back on the small screen as a host on Trending SA. We asked him to do our countdown quiz, so we get to know him a little better.
1. Thing you love about hosting your new show . . .
Things are never the same. Everything is based on a topical discussion, from health and finance to whatever else seems to be the topic of the day. I really like entertaining people and any opportunity to do that is great for me.
2. Things you’d tell your teenage self . . .
Stay on your path, but take as many risks as you possibly can. Looking back, I can see there’s a lot more I could have done that would have put me in a different place, but I shied away from it. And secondly, enjoy every moment of your youth!
3. Places you’d like to visit . . .
Japan – I’d like to explore their culture from a semitourist point of view, without the rush of seeing it all in a week. The USA, to see what the big fuss is about! And Croatia – I think the landscape is beautiful so I’d really like to see Europe from this perspective.
4. People you’d love to have a drink with . . .
Elon Musk, to take a peek into the mind of an innovator. God – I have many questions that need urgent answers! Beyoncé, just to establish the timeline of when exactly we’re getting married. And my future self – to find out how it is I got there and what decisions to avoid making.
5. Things you can’t live without . . .
Family, friends, the internet, my cellphone, pork ribs
