5 things you need to know about 5FM’s new DJ

Cape Town – Xyla is the newest DJ on SABC national radio station 5FM.

The young masters student will have a night time slot and will start this weekend.

We have rounded up everything you need to know about Xyla, from her real name to her time slot.

1. Xyla’s real name is Yelanda Tyekela.

2. Xyla takes over the weekend’s All Night Music shows, which are on Saturday and Sunday from 01:00 – 04:00.

3. She is a Masters student in Building (Property Development and Management) at Wits.

4. In terms of music taste Xyla says: “I hate being boxed in and am currently enjoying rock from The Plastics, hip hop from Riky Rick and House from Black Coffee."
