6 times local stars collaborated with international acts in 2017

Johannesburg – 2017 has been a great year for collabs.

Not only have many SA stars joined forces on killer tracks, But our local musos have also reached out to artists from across the ocean to make some amazing music. 

Take a look at six times local acts have worked with international artists this year. 

1. Kwesta ft Wale 

Kwesta teamed up with US rapper Wale on his new track Spirit. The song has been a major hit with fans, receiving 370 spins across all radio stations just a week after being released.

2. Lira and Nico and Vins 

Songstress Lira shared snaps in July of herself in studio with Norwegian duo Nico and Vinz. The star mentioned that the international musos were helping pen a new track.

3. Black Coffee and Cassie 

Okay, so he may have missed out on an opportunity to work with RiRi, but Black Coffee that does not take away from the fact that he will be featured on Cassie’s new album. In an interview on Metro FM the DJ spoke about how excited he is to be working with Cassie. 

4. Ben Haenow ft ChianoSky 

ICYMI: SA singer ChianoSky has a new track with UK X Factor 2014 winner Ben Haenow. The song is called Alive, and if you have not heard it yet, now’s your chance.

5. Major Lazer, Maphorisa, Nasty C and Jidenna 

Not just one, but two SA acts jumped on board this killer collaboration. Nasty C and Maphorisa held their own alongside international acts Major Lazer and Jidenna on their hit called Particula

6. Sketchy Bongo and Lupe Fiasco 

Durban-born muso Sketchy Bongo produced the remix of American rapper Lupe Fiasco’s Wild Child. The track also scored a feature on Lupe’s new album Drogas Light.
