1. Arno Carstens
OFFENCE: DRUNK DRIVING
Arno Carstens was arrested in Cape Town in December 2010, after two police officers in a patrol vehicle noticed his Mercedes-Benz being driven erratically. He was later found not guilty of drunken driving by the Cape Town District Court. Read the full story here.
2. Steve Hofmeyr
OFFENCE: SPEEDING
Afrikaans singer Steve Hofmeyr was fined R10 000 for speeding by the Bronkhorstspruit Magistrate's Court in January 2014. Hofmeyr was arrested in Bronkhorstspruit on the night of 19 December 2013 and was released on bail of R500.
At the time, Gauteng traffic police spokeswoman Busaphi Nxumalo said Hofmeyr was caught driving 169km/h in an 80km/h zone. Read the full story here.
3. Jub Jub
OFFENCE: MURDER
Jub Jub was charged with the murder of four school boys and attempted murder of two more, after crashing into them while drag racing under the influence.
The musician was sentenced to 25 years in jail, the conviction however were later converted to culpable homicide and sentencing was reduced to 8 years.
4. Gareth Cliff
OFFENCE: SPEEDING
Gareth Cliff was arrested for speeding in Pretoria in March 2012. Cliff was caught driving 182km/h in a 120km/h zone on the R21 in Lyttelton. Read more about that here.
5. Uyanda Mbuli
OFFENCE: VIOLATING A COURT ORDER
Businesswoman and socialite Uyanda Mbuli was arrested for violating a court order, stopping her from having any contact with her husband Sisa Mbuli. Read more about that here.
6. Maggie Benedict
OFFENCE: SHOPLIFTING
Former Generations actress, Maggie Benedict, was arrested after allegedly stealing a R17.90 packet of Panado tablets at Checkers in Joburg's Cresta in December 2013. Read more about that here.
7. Ntombi and Ace
OFFENCE: DRUG POSSESSION
Former Big Brother Mzansi winners Ace and Ntombi were arrested for drug possession in Cape Town in February 2016. The reality TV stars were nabbed after police received an anonymous tip-off about a suspicious vehicle driving through the area. Read the full story here.
