Cape Town - 7de Laan's "spinnekopvroutjie" and the voice of Heidi, Annelisa Weiland, celebrated her 70th birthday on Friday.
Annelisa, who portrays the popular character Hilda on the soapie celebrated the seven decade milestone with a special black and white cake.
The actress has been part of the Danie Odendaal Produksies produced show since the first episode, becoming a household name with her "hartjie," "serpie" remarks.
Hilda recently underwent a reinvention and style-makeover which included a shorter haircut as well as a different story arc after her husband Oubaas, played by Pierre van Pletzen, was written out of the soap.
7de Laan surprised Annelisa, who also voiced the animated character Heidi, with a cake and congratulated her on the milestone birthday on Facebook, writing: "Annelisa, today we celebrate everything that makes you so special."
"You are described as a generous friend and colleague who always remembers others. You have a solid work ethic and a hilarious sense of humour. Our warmest wishes on your 70th birthday, may you be blessed with love and peace in abundance!"
