Cape Town - Former South African Olympic swimmer Charlene, Princess of Monaco, is back in SA doing some important charity work.
One of the charity events that the royal hosted was The Princess Charlene of Monaco Ladies Day on Saturday, 22 April. The event took place at Turffontein race course. While there Charlene met the new Miss South Africa Demi-Leigh Nel-Pieters.
Various charities were listed as beneficiaries of the race day including The Red Cross and Gugulesizwe Primary School.
Charlene has also been raising awareness around the alarming rate of drowning deaths around the world.
