Amamkele Qamata shot to fame in Mzansi Magic’s Gomora – now her new Netflix series is set to take the country by storm

As a child, Amamkele Qamata loved the stage and she is one of the latest talents to captivate viewers in Netflix’s second African original series, Blood & Water. Even with other roles in shows like Muvhango and Rhythm City, very few people knew about her, but after landing a role in Mzansi Magic’s Gomora, she has become the talk of the town.

Blood & Water tells the story of 16-year-old Puleng Khumalo (played by Ama Qamata), who discovers her older sister was abducted at birth and sets off to unravel the mystery of her missing sibling.

 In the latest issue of DRUM, Ama shares how her mother’s support, dropping out of her studies and the journey that led to her landing  one of the of her biggest role yet.
