In a recent sit-down with Wendy Williams on her show, Birdman said he’d like to change his image now that he’s getting older.

The 50-year-old rapper and co-founder of Cash Money Records told Wendy he wants to remove the tattoos on his face but not the ones on his head. “I didn’t want to take the [head tattoos] off, but I want to take the facials off. And I was asking my partner, 50 [Cent], ’cause he removed his tattoos. So I wanted to go to somebody who can take these tats off my face,” he said.

But he added that he’d be fine with keeping the tattoos if nothing could be done about them. “If I have to live with it, I will. I just felt like, me being older, I would like to get it off. But if not, it is what it is.”

This isn’t something he decided on overnight – in his interview with Forbes in March he went into more detail, reports Page Six.

“I just think at this point in my life, I don’t need that. That stereotypes you,” the rapper said. “It takes away from the business and certain things,” he said.

During their interview, Wendy tried to take a jab at Birdman’s fiancée – the legendary Toni Braxton – for “not being so great with money”, referring to Toni filing for bankruptcy in 1998 and 2010. Early last year it was reported she owed the US revenue service more than $780 000 (R11 million) in back taxes, but Birdman was quick to defend his own.

“We’re not gonna go there. If she had and will have any problems, I have enough money where she’ll never have a problem,” he responded.
