Imagine going through lockdown without your favourite radio programmes –
sounds like a nightmare doesn’t it? That’s why people like radio personality and
former Miss SA Liesl Laurie have been working from home.
And even though it’s a little different to how she’s used to working,
Liesl is enjoying it and is even taking better care of her physical health.
“This is a very tough time for everyone, globally,” Liesl tell us.
“I’ve decided to do more things that make me happy, it really helps.
Praying and working also give me so much peace, the social-media challenges are
also pretty fun!”
We ask the Johannesburg beauty how her lockdown days have been.
What time do you wake up?
I get up at 5am. The JacaBreakfast show starts at 6am.
First thing you do after waking up?
Pray then take a shower.
Breakfast, lunch and supper?
Breakfast – oats or muesli with fruit.
Lunch – tuna wrap and a side salad.
Dinner – beef, creamed spinach and sweet potato.
Are you eating more or still controlling your diet?
I’m eating better. I have more time for meal preparation, so my
eating plan is doing well for my body goals.
What do you do between meals?
I do the breakfast radio show live from my lounge at 6am – the
#JacaBreakfast team are all broadcasting from our homes in Johannesburg and
Pretoria. Then I catch up on admin or work. After that I work out for one hour
per day, then I read, watch series and cook dinner.
What’s on your watchlist?
I’m currently re-watching Suits and The Vampire Diaries.
What time do you go to bed?
