Artists are known to draw inspiration from their past relationships or experiences, but when rapper Drake dissed his baby mama his fans weren’t impressed.

In When to Say When, which he dropped on Sundaythe rapper refers to his baby mama, Sophie Brussaux, as a fluke.

The news of Drake being a father was first shared by his former rival, Pusha T, in a diss track and was confirmed by Drake in album Scorpion in 2018. In some of the songs, the rapper explained he fathered baby Adonis with Sophie after only sleeping with her twice. He also said the two weren’t in a relationship.

“Baby mama a fluke, but I love her for who she is,” he raps in When to Say When.

According to Page Six, the word “fluke” can refer to one of two things: an unlikely chance occurrence, especially a surprising piece of luck, or a parasitic flatworm which typically has suckers and hooks for attachment to the host. Either way, the word has negative connotations and fans were having none of it.

Many took to Twitter to call him out for dissing her after sleeping with her.

It’s not the first time Drizzy has come under fire for his lyrics. The rapper reportedly found himself on the wrong side of Michael Jackson’s fans over lyrics about the late singer in another one of his new songs, Chicago Freestyle.

“Michael Jackson sh*t, but the palace is not for kids/Still women sayin’ it’s childish the way we live,” he raps, referring to allegations of sexual abuse made against the late singer.

Tweeps criticised him for this, accusing him of also preying on minors.
