Rapper, Gigi Lamayne is venturing into television presenting with a brand new show that will be airing on Soweto TV (DStv 251) on 1 April 2020.

Making the announcement on her Instagram page, the Fufa-hitmaker expressed her excitement over hosting her first official show that will be called Hair Jury.

"A new journey has begun! My first official show as your host on @hairjury. Tune into our first show premiere on @sowetotv on the 1st of April. Spread the word! We talk all things black hair! @africanhairawards," she captioned a short clip of the show.

Speaking to DRUM about Hair Jury, Gigi revealed that the show would be about all things involving black women’s hair.

"The show is basically on black hair. We are focusing on issues around women and black hair. We feel that hair is a political issue and something that people are down for. Whether it comes to decide that you’re a woke girl and that resonating with you having natural hair or you relaxing your hair or whatever the case may be. So the idea is that we educate people around hair, hair products and we just have really cool conversations with celebrities and hair experts," she explained.

The rapper said that fans would also get to see a different side to Gigi Lamayne the rapper, who is more of a "hardcore chick on edge" as she will be more like a personality and people will see the love that she has for hair.

"This is where I’ll get to become a personality and not just a musician anymore and that’s exciting," she said.

And on landing the gig, Gigi revealed that she was approached by the African hair awards who’ve always known how staunch she’s been about black women and hair in general and asked her to host the show.

She also says that this came at the exact right time as presenting is something that she’s always wanted to do.

"For a lot of people who don’t know about me, I actually studied drama in high school and matriculated with an average of 92% for drama. So it’s always been something that I’ve wanted to get into. I’ve always been somebody whose been very within the arts sector and I guess music just kind of happened first. But acting and presenting is definitely something I’ve always wanted to go into and I’m having the time of my life," she said.

For those fans who may be worried that Gigi’s presenting may halt her from releasing new music, the rapper assures that she won’t stop releasing music and is in fact dropping a new single on Friday, 27 March.

"This Friday I’m dropping a new single which features an American female artist from Atlanta. I think you guys are going to like this one. It’s got a lot of rap, a lot of bars and is the absolute turn up song. And then we’re going to do a lead up single after that which will feature DJ Tira and NaakMusiQ towards the end of the year. I’ll also be dropping my new album next year," she told DRUM.
