Johannesburg - Local rapper Linda "ProKid" Mkhize died on Wednesday night after suffering a severe seizure following a night out with friends, according to a statement by his family.
Now, the Mkhize family tells Drum that they are currently waiting for post-mortem results to solve the mystery surrounding his sudden death.
ProKid’s cousin, Nhlanhla Mohlauli told Drum: “We are now waiting for the post-mortem results. And if there is something that comes up which is out of our knowledge, we will act on it."
The family says they still don’t know what could have triggered the seizure because he’s never suffered one before.
“None of his family was there nor his close friends. We just received a call that he had collapsed.”
He says they didn’t know he had a seizure until the paramedics told them.
The rapper is survived by his parents, his wife Ayanda, his three-year-old daughter Nonkanyezi, as well as his brothers and extended family.
The funeral will be take place on Sunday 18 August.
