Idols SA 2015 winner Karabo Mogane has taken a new direction, and it's been easy for the 26-year-old to transform from pop singer to radio host.

From 5 November, the talented star will be behind the mic on UJFM as the host of the Sunday afternoon show from 2pm to 6pm.

Karabo told DRUM that his decision to embark on this new journey was influenced by his love for radio, good music, being told several times he has a voice for radio and mostly because he wants to interact with people.

“I'd always loved radio and people close to me had always told me to consider a career on radio because I have a voice for it. I love the vibe and being able to interact with people and playing good music consistently," Karabo said.

“It’s also something I’ve been dreaming about but I didn’t expect it to happen so soon. I want to interact with people and have fun on radio."

The singer said he's very grateful for this opportunity. He puts God first in everything he does because God has given him an opportunity he always wanted.

“I think everything happens on its time and God has a plan for everyone. I’ve always wanted to be on radio. I'm very grateful for this opportunity and I'm going to work hard because God has His own way of doing things. That’s why I don’t question anything. I just continue living because I know He has my back and He will provide when it’s time," the business management student added.
