The 10th annual Crown Gospel Music Awards took place at the Durban International Convention Centre on Sunday evening.

Gospel lovers came out in their numbers to support their favourite gospel stars.

One of the biggest winners of the evening was SAMA and Metro FM Music Awards nominee, Lebo Sekgobela who bagged the Best Gospel Album award.

Speaking to DRUM, Lebo said she believes this was the right time to win the award. “I am grateful to God more than anything.

You become speechless when God rewards you at the right time,” an excited Lebo said. “I’d like to also thank my fans and everyone who played ‘Lion of Judah’ and made it so big in December.

Thank you to everyone who loves the album and went out to buy it,” she added.

Other winners include Neyi Zimu who took the Best Male title, Benjamin Dube who was honoured with the Artist of the Decade award and Dumi Mkokstad who received the Best Songwriter award.

The late Sfiso Ncwane’s ‘Kulungile Baba’ was crowned Song of the Decade. Take a look at some of the looks from the evening.
