Cape Town - Rapper Kanye West has been dragged into a domestic dispute between his father, Raymond, and stepmother, Cheryl West, as reported by BET.
According to documents obtained by Radar Online, Cheryl – who had been married to Raymond since 1998 before finally getting a divorce earlier this year – accused her ex-husband of abuse, claiming he’d beaten her with a belt on one occasion and that he once tried to forcibly remove her wedding ring.
In divorce documents – obtained by Radar Online – she stated, “Once he beat me with a belt. Following the death of my mother in 2009 he . . . told a relative ‘he could make me disappear’. This was a threat on my life”. She recalled that the incidents happened after Kanye’s mother passed away in 2009.
In the same documents Kanye West’s step-sister, Shaleim Henry, dragged the rapper into the dispute by saying she feels Kanye’s fame caused Raymond to leave her mom. “He’s Kanye West’s dad. And it just seems to me that when the fame arrived, he disappeared.”
