Khanya Mkangisa has joined the cast of Mzansi Magic’s hit telenovela, The Queen.
The actress took to Instagram to share the good news of being part of the popular series.
In her post, she tells fans that she’s “super excited and honoured”.
“Guess who just made their debut on The Queen!?! I’m super excited and honoured! If you missed it, catch the repeat over the weekend or on Monday. Thank you for all the love everyone, it’s truly appreciated,” she posted.
Speaking to DRUM, Khanya explained that she’s playing the character of Akhona who is Vuyiswa’s (played by Zandile Msutwana) niece.
“Akhona is Vuyiswa’s niece. She was involved in a car accident with her mother on her way to her aunt’s wedding but unfortunately her mother dies. She gets taken in by Jerry,” said Khanya.
Khanya expressed her excitement at her new role.
“I feel I am very similar to my character. The things I have similar with are, she is independent, ambitious and a go-getter.”
The Queen plays every weekday at 21:30 on Mzansi Magic.
