Reality TV star Kylie Jenner is turning out to be quite a philanthropist. In her latest humanitarian effort, the beauty mogul has donated $1 million (about R17.5 million) to help fight the spread of the coronavirus in the US.

Answering her obstetrician/gynaecologist Dr Thais Aliabadi’s plea, Kylie decided to do her part by focusing her donation on buying face masks and other protective gear for health workers, according to Allure.

Dr Thais responded to Kylie’s donation in an Instagram post

"I am speechless, my eyes are filled with tears of joy and my heart is overwhelmed with gratitude. I made a wish to the universe to gather protective masks for our brave healthcare workers and today my dream came true," she wrote.

"From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU @kyliejenner," she added.

"You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives. Our world is a better place with you in it. I love you so much. Thank you X a million."

Dr Thais helped deliver Kylie’s daughter Stormi two years ago.
