Cape Town - Last week Grammy-winning artist Mariah Carey got a ton of support from fans after revealing her long-time battle with a bipolar disorder in People magazine’s cover story.

Although the We Belong Together hitmaker assured fans she was doing well with managing her condition, reports by The Blast might suggest otherwise.

According to the publication, sources revealed Mimi’s condition and alleged substance abuse landed the singer in hospital back in 2016 when she had delusions of deceased singers Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and Prince being at her house for a dinner party.

The sources said it all started when she’d just broken up with her fiancé, James Packer, and had been partying with her new bae, Bryan Tanaka.

According to the report one night in 2016 Mimi’s ex-hubby, Nick Cannon, frantically called her manager, Stella Bulochnikov, after he was called by their kids’ nanny who had found Mariah “wearing a ballgown and a tiara” and sporting a Ring Pop she claimed was given to her “from the royal family”.

Mariah’s team then arrived at the scene with a psychiatrist who felt the mom of two needed to be immediately hospitalised. The sources also told the site the 48-year-old tried to jump out of a moving vehicle on the way to the hospital.

On the same night Mimi allegedly asked her nanny to get her two children ready for the important dinner party that would host Michael, Whitney and Prince.

After laying sexual harassment charges against Mariah, Stella is reportedly going to use the 2016 incident in her lawsuit.

But it seems Mariah and her team aren’t ready to go down without a fight.

“If this frivolous and baseless claim is filed, we will defend against it vigorously and successfully,” one of Mariah’s reps told The Blast.
