Idols SA season 11 runner-up, Mmatema Moremi is living her dream even after losing to Karabo Mogane in 2015.

The songstress has released her much anticipated debut album: Love Praise Worship which has 16 tracks including her hit-single Ke Lerato, which has been topping the charts.

Speaking to DRUM, Mmatema says she wrote Ke Lerato when South Africa was going through a tough time.

“I wrote Ke Lerato at the time South Africa was going through the worst in terms of homicide,   women abuse and when the tragic news of Karabo Mokena broke,” she explained.

“I wanted to encourage the spirit of caring for the next person on the street by singing about general love among humans.”

About the album, Mmatema revealed that she wrote it in the comfort of her own home to avoid all the technicalities.

The singer also said that Love.Praise.Worship was inspired by her life post-Idols.

“Idols played a big role in my career since it gave me a start and exposed me to people who were interested in my gift. It opened many doors for me,” she said.

“Love. Praise. Worship  inspired my current life and life post-Idols. I decided to fuse everything into one album because people expect to hear different sounds from me.”

The album, which is out in stores, has different songs that range from love songs to gospel songs in order to appeal to all of Mmatema’s fans.

On her plans for the year, the star said that an album tour as well as some other projects were in the works.

“l’ll be pushing the album as much as I can by having an album tour in all major cities. I’ll also be doing more acting and presenting. I’m currently shooting the second season of Bone of My Bones and I’ll be on a new gospel show on SABC1.”
