Moshe Ndiki has quickly become one of Mzansi’s favourite entertainers, after his funny videos trended on social media and YouTube – people love him!

However, the 31-year-old upset Twitter recently when he posted throwback pictures of himself while going through a cultural phase that every boy in the Xhosa culture goes through before ‘becoming a man’, “Ukwaluka” (Initiation school).

This is not the first time South Africa has had uproar about initiation school issues, some people belonging to the Xhosa tribe feel such issues are not to be made public as they are sacred traditions.

The recent film, Inxeba (The Wound), which the ‘The Queen’ actor referenced in his caption, created a heated debate in the country around the entire traditional circumcision. However, the film’s co-producer, Batana Vundla, maintained that no cultural secrets were revealed:

"If anything, through the constructive dialogue brought about by the film, initiation as a traditional practice and its in role in society has been strengthened by Inxeba. I want to stress that no secrets were revealed.”

Moshe’s pics however, certainly hit a nerve with some Tweeps:

While some were clearly upset with Moshe, most Tweeps were entertained by him – even calling him “Mkhwetha” (Initiate) of the year.
