Cape Town - Kwaito star Mshoza has written a heartfelt letter to Babes Wodumo following the revelations she was in an abusive relationship with ex-fiancé, Mampintsha.
In a radio interview on Metro FM on Friday, Babes was confronted about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of Mampintsha. Metro FM host Masechaba Ndlovu also claimed the Big Nuz member allegedly punched Babes in the face and broke her leg.
Mshoza, who is in hiding out of fear for her life following allegations of assault against her husband, asked what they as woman had done wrong to be on the receiving end of abuse.
"I kept asking myself, ‘What have we done wrong? Who do we turn to?’" she writes in the letter. "Be strong, my princess, and know you are not alone. Amanxeba (The wounds) will heal one day at a time. Together we will fight against women abuse. One day these tears will be turned into smiles and happiness."
Having escaped her own alleged abusive relationship, Mshoza expressed her desire to see Babes do the same.
The 23-year-old has been in a relationship with Mampintsha since she burst onto the scene with her debut single, Wololo, in 2016.
“I wish I can give you a hug and tell you, ‘Kuzolunga’, the 35-year-old singer writes, adding she hopes Babes will one day have the “courage to say enough is enough”.
Mshoza, real name Nomasonto Maswanganyi, also advices Babes to not allow herself to believe the things Mampintsha says about her.
“The man will tell you that you are useless, not good enough and just plain stupid,” she adds. “Never internalise negativity no matter who is spewing the hate.”
