There’s no doubt Jabulani “Sjava” Makhubo made waves last year, racking up one accolade after the other. But now the artist’s personal life seems to be making headlines, one scandal after the other. It was first the surprise reveal by his mother that he has a “makoti”, followed by musician Lady Zamar speaking out about her alleged rape at the hands of Sjava and now, we meet a young woman claims Sjava is the father of her child.
In an exclusive interview, 26-year-old Mandisa Mtubu* says Sjava knows about the one-year-old and has up until recently, paid child support. From being loved-up, to him avoiding paying child maintenance to being offered money for her silence on the matter, she has tried to keep this to herself. And now she is speaking out.
