Johannesburg - Former reality TV star Lyric McHenry was found dead on a New York City sidewalk on Tuesday morning, according to reports by the New York Daily News.
She was best known for appearing on E!’s hit reality series, EJNYC.
The 26-year-old - who, according to Daily Mail, was 20 weeks pregnant - was allegedly found wearing a pajama top and underwear. Her death is suspected to have been caused by a drug overdose.
The site further reported that McHenry was rushed to the Bronx-Lebanon hospital after being found unconscious on the sidewalk and only had knee injuries.
The star was allegedly found in possession of a small bag of cocaine.
According to BET , apart from appearing in the reality show alongside her best friend and son of Magic Johnson, EJ Johnson – The Stanford University graduate was also known for working on former President Obama’s presidential campaign when she was only 15 years old.
E! Online reported that McHenry had been posting Instagram Stories where she could be seen celebrating her birthday with friends at the Frederick Hotel, SoHo Grand Hotel and Dream Downtown the evening before her death.
