Last night’s episode of Mzansi Magic’s confessions show, Yim’ Lo, left a lot of viewers emotional after Rebecca’s confession.
The 21-year-old woman from Winterveld in Pretoria asked host Dineo Ranaka to help her come clean to her family about sleeping with several men for money. Rebecca, whose mother has passed on, uses the money to take care of her unemployed family members. To add to her worries, her grandmother has breast cancer and Rebecca has to pay for the medication.
For a change, tweeps were empathetic to Rebecca’s situation and didn’t judge her. Most people came forward to share how the high rate of unemployment in South Africa could lead to such situations, while others blamed her family for depending on her.
