On Monday morning, South Africans were outraged after waking up to the shocking video where singer Babes Wodumo was allegedly being physically assaulted by her long-time boyfriend, Mampintsha.

While many including celebrities called out Mampintsha for his actions, entertainer Somizi Mhlongo vowed to boycott and not work at any gigs associated with the musician.

Speaking on his wooooo shem segment on METRO FM’s Fresh Breakfast, Somgaga revealed that he would be pulling out of an event Mampintsha had booked him for.

“I was booked by Mampintsha for a concert in Cape Town, sometime in May. I can tell you now, I am pulling out. I am not gonna be a part of this, I am not going to keep quiet and support it. I am so angry right now,” he said to his fellow co-hosts DJ Fresh and Angie Khumalo.

Somizi also spoke about what crossed his mind when he first saw the video.

“The first thing I thought of was that it's been happening way too often, for way too long, that she's now at the point where she's able to suss out when it’s gonna come. So now she's saying, 'Okay, now it's gonna come, let me put evidence and go live’”.

Somizi isn’t the only one who’s no longer interested in working with the Big Nuz artist. Singer Busiswa revealed that she also would not be part of the Cape Town event while TV producer, Jo Lurie also revealed her plans of never working with him again in future.
