The local YouTube space has grown significantly over the past two years and with many influencers gaining a number of followers from their beauty, lifestyle and food channels, some celebrities such as Lerato Kganyago and husband-and-wife duo Stephanie Sandows and Hungani Ndlovu have also jumped onto the bandwagon.

The latest celebrity who’ll be joining the video platform is Idols SA judge and choreographer, Somizi Mhlongo, who’ll be starting two new channels centered on food and motivational talks.

Taking to IGTV to make the announcement, his husband, Mohale Motaung-Mhlongo, posted a video of somGAGA sharing the news while whipping up a meal in their kitchen.

In the video, Somizi said he was excited to be starting his channels and put a disclaimer on it about not being a professional chef.

“I’m excited and I’ve got great news for you. Finally, I’m starting two channels on YouTube. One is a cooking show that I’ll be launching within the next two weeks and I’m so super super excited. I’ll be sharing dishes that I’ve made from scratch. I’m not a chef, I’m just a person who is excited when I’m in the kitchen,” he said at the beginning of the 3-minute-long vid.

“YouTube channel coming soon. Bae is starting a YouTube channel that will be focused on cooking and on motivational talks about everything you can think of. More information coming soon. @somizi,” Mohale captioned the clip.

Somizi is no stranger to the kitchen and has often left fans drooling over some of his meals that he regularly posts on social media.
