Cape Town - South African beauty influencer Mihlali Ndamase went from shooting make-up tutorials in her bedroom to becoming one of the biggest beauty influencers in the country – and now the 23-year-old has been ranked the 17th highest paid make-up artist in the world on the Instagram Rich List.
According to HopperHQ.com, which analyses data such as audience engagement, follower count and post frequency on social media, Mihlali who has just over 735000 Instagram followers earns a whopping $1800 (R25 000) per paid post.
Coming in first place under the beauty category is Huda Beauty founder and beauty blogger, Huda Kattan, who has over 37 million followers on the app and makes $91300 (R1,270m) per post on Instagram.
Mihlali and model Candice Swanepoel are the only two South Africans who made it onto the Instagram Rich List.
Candice is ranked 4th under the fashion category and makes $46700 (+- R650 000) per paid post.
Kylie Jenner, of course, charges the most for Instagram posts – a whopping $1,266,000 (R 17.6m) to be exact. Even though she is not the most followed person on the platform, she does have the most engagement, which significantly increases her worth according to Business Insider.
