South Africans have been entertained musically this year so far, with some of the best beats from various artists. Below are the five albums that are popular with music lovers and have received extensive airplay on radio.

In May the multi-award winning rapper dropped his eagerly awaited third album, Thuto. The 16-track project features Riky Rick, Nadia Nakai, Tshego and Jazz legend Tshepo Tshola. His song Destiny has over 1 million YouTube views.


In September the award-winning rapper finally dropped Manando. The Hustler named the album after his late friend who cared for him on the streets during when Emtee was younger.

The South African vocal queen is taking the world of music with the release of her debut album, Rose Gold. The 12-track album features the likes of Rouge, Asali and Mariechan. The music vid for her Suited video has over 1 million YouTube views.
