Today many celebrated United Nations Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace. The day which is meant to commemorate the movement for women’s rights was first celebrated on February 28, 1909 in New York.
While the day has been commemorated by protests, strikes and marches, these days it honours and celebrates women in all countries and from all sectors of society.
DRUM chooses to celebrate this day by looking at the top five women who keep us glued to the television screens with their powerful demeanour as villains:
Rami Chuene who plays Gracious Mabuza on The Queen is a hard-core drug lord who will do anything for power.
Sindi Dlathu as Lindiwe Dlamini on action-packed telenovela The River is prepared to get rid of anyone who stands in her way.
