In an interview with my truthtv ,the 40-year-old opened up about many personal things including her depression and the routine she had to establish in order to overcome it.

“I knew I had to establish a routine because depression is smart, it won’t announce itself “Hi I’m here”, she said.

“It creeps in, you sleep more, you sabotage yourself a lot more, you consume substances that allow you to be dependent on them,” she added.

Taking to her Instagram page, Unathi shared a clip from the interview captioned, “Its Okay to not be Okay” and urged her fans to watch her first ever interview with her dad.

“It’s okay to not be OKAY. Please watch my full interview. The first I’ve ever done with my father, psychologist Sakhiwo Nkayi We talk mental HEALTH in families, my journey through my transition into my new life and how we as a family dealt with that. MyTruth.tv [sic],” she wrote.

In the video Unathi says she had to accept where she was at the time and that’s how she slowly regained her independence.

“I had to accept where I was in all those places and slowly regain my independence,” she shared.
