Nigerian Afro-fusion singer and songwriter, Burna Boy, recently saw that that music icon, Elton John is playing his music and his reaction is one of the sweetest and funniest things you’ll see today.
Taking to his Instagram page, the 28-year-old couldn’t hide his excitement when a friend recorded him playing the clip repeatedly. In the video shared on Twitter by a fan, Burna Boy has his phone in his hands as he plays a clip of Elton John sharing his music playlist that includes music by the Nigerian artist.
After starting it over a couple of times, Burna Boy, in the heaviest Nigerian accent, says to his friends who are with him in the room:
“I’m Elton John,” he repeats after Elton’s voice in the clip, “he said it now, am I crazy? Wait,” he says before playing it one more time. To further emphasize how big of a deal this is for him, Burna Boy goes to Elton John’s Twitter account and reads his bio.
“A multiple Grammy-winning legend and flamboyant superstar, Elton is the most enduringly successful singer/songwriter of his generation,” he reads. Then continues, “Yes. now there’s no way you can tell me rubbish again, thank you.”
