Both John Kani and son, Atandwa Kani, proudly represented Mzansi  on Monday at the Black Panther USA premiere in Los Angeles, Callifornia.

Marvel also gave the rest of the world a teaser titled, It’s A Set Up. And one thing stood out- a first glance at the characters speaking isiXhosa, the language of Wakanda .

The scene saw the likes of Lupita Nyong’o, Chadwick Boseman and Danai Gurira react in isiXhosa whilst kicking ass in fine style.

On isiXhosa being used in the film, John Kani told EWN, “There are words used to indicate that those people’s indigenous language is not English. But you know this is an American major blockbuster, therefore it will be 99.9% English. However, you’ll hear some [isiXhosa] words being dropped.”

Fans first caught a glimpse of the language in Captain America: Civil War in 2016.

According to IMDB, Black Panther will be hitting Mzansi’s theatres on 16 February.
