The annual South African Music Awards (Samas) weekend left many fans disappointed due to boring red carpet looks, poor sound quality and some faves not winning awards.
And to add to the list, popular musician Mlindo The Vocalist was accused of beating up his girlfriend by a tweep, @Sibusiso_mvula, who wrote a thread on how he allegedly witnessed how the artist “beat up his gf at the parking lot in Sun City after the Awards”.
The tweep further alleged that the singer was “drunk and out of control” to a point where he was kicking the other cars in the parking lot.
Just as fans were getting ready to cancel the singer, Mlindo posted a video in which he slammed the rumours and said his girlfriend wasn’t even at the event.
“There’s news spreading that I was seen beating up a woman because I was angry at not winning anything,” he began. “Bafwethu (guys) this isn’t true at all. I did not beat up anyone. I wasn’t even with my girlfriend at the Samas. Whoever that is coming up with these stories, I don’t know what they’re trying to achieve,” he explained before saying he forgives the person for spreading the malicious rumours.
