Wendy Williams’ son, Kevin Hunter Jr has pleaded not guilty to assaulting his father, Kevin Hunter Snr.

According to Page Six, the 18-year-old who allegedly punched his father in the face during an altercation that happened in May, appeared at the New Jersey Court on Tuesday for the matter and pleaded not guilty to the charges of assault.

The publication further reports that the prosecutor, Joseph Wenzel, requested more time to review the case where he would also be considering Kevin Hunter Snr’s desire of not pressing charges against his son.

Speaking to PEOPLE, Hunter Jr’s attorney, Ray Hamlin said that he is “looking forward to resolving this case favorably and believe that the case will be resolved in that manner so that my client can enter into his Sophomore year of college with no distractions.”

Meanwhile, reports allege that Wendy Williams and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Kevin Hunter were present at the courthouse but chose to stay outside the courtroom to avoid “causing a spectacle”.
