South African fans automatically fell in love with US rapper and singer Doja Cat once they discovered her father is veteran actor Dumisani Dlamini. He’s best known for his role as Chester in TV series Yizo Yizo and also starred in Sarafina!.

Now, an encounter between the rapper and American actress Whoopi Goldberg has SA Twitter talking after a video of them was posted online.

In the video the two can be seen speaking backstage. They discuss Doja Cat’s (real name Amalaratna Zandile Dlamini) father.

“I’m just thinking about my dad ’cos he was in Sarafina! and yeah. So, seeing you and meeting you is the craziest thing,” Doja Cat says, looking at Whoopi in awe.

Whoopi then asks what her dad’s name was and the Juicy hitmaker replies, “Dumisani.” The actress appears shocked as she remembers who he played in the classic musical drama film.

The rapper then says she hasn’t met her own father, “I ain’t get to meet him but you did.” Whoopi responds by saying he is a really good man.

Despite Whoopi’s words, many tweeps slammed the Isibaya actor for being an absent father. The Juicy hitmaker has previously spoken about how her father has not been in her life.
