Reality TV star and musician Penny Penny has reprimanded South Africans failing to abide by the rules of the current national lockdown.

In a video circulating on social media, Penny Penny (real name Eric Nkovani) said people should abide before it’s too late.

The country is currently on day four of the 21-day lockdown as ordered by President Cyril Ramaphosa to contain the spread of the deadly coronavirus.

Penny Penny is popular for being unashamed of his poor command of English.

True to form, the Papa Penny Ahee star delivered his message the only way only he can:

“Everyone! All townships in Joburg, please let’s try to respect our president. Tomorrow you’re going to [get] sick and then you will say the government does not look after you but you must take orders. This virus is all over the world and not only South Africa.

“Move from the streets. Lock yourself up in your home. Your home is not a prison . . . stay at home. You don’t listen,” he laments.

There were many positive reactions to the video and many called on all South Africans to keep indoors to curb the spread of the virus.

Penny Penny said he’s concerned that people are not listening and are ignoring the calls – to their own detriment.

“When they get ill, it will be government’s responsibility to take care of them yet they were warned,” he said.
